Unlike other online networks, The College Forecast is strictly about music. There are no questions about your birthday, AIM screenname or other personal information. The College Forecast provides a free service where users can enjoy their Internet experience without companies looking into their profile or Internet predators harassing them. Our goal is to promote the music and talent of college students around the world. If music is an interest of yours, you have come to the right place. Enjoy.
What can you do here?
We decided to start a website where college musicians can create a profile and upload their music for the world to hear. With a profile, Artists can receive feedback on their message board, create a network of fans and keep them up to date using the forecast feature. In addition to the artist profile, The College Forecast allows everyone to:
- Listen to music made by college artists
- Search The College Forecast database by school, song, artist or genre
- Rate Artists on a 1 to 10 scale
- Chat in a forum about everything from instruments to movies to college sports
What’s the story behind the college forecast, what’s it all about?
The musical talent of an R.I.T. student inspired the creation of The College Forecast. The creator believed his roommate had the potential to produce songs catchy enough to be heard on the radio. Unfortunately, he had no connections in the music business that could share his roommate’s talent with the world. And with that The College Forecast was born.
